The display specialist AOC announces that, according to the latest market data from Context, in the third quarter of 2020, with a 27% market share, it once again occupied the first place in terms of market share of gaming monitors (120Hz and above) in Europe, and thus continues in the leading position in the last year since the third quarter of 2019.
According to the IDC Quarterly Gaming Tracker Q2-2020, AOC also has the largest market share (20%) of gaming monitors worldwide. Gaming monitors are defined as monitors with a refresh rate of 100Hz and above, which is the minimum required for competitive gamers to have the fastest and smoothest gaming experience and beat their opponents.
Covering a large portfolio of gaming monitors with screen sizes from 21.5" to 49", various aspect ratios (16:9, 21:9, 32:9), resolutions from Full HD to Ultra HD and more (5120x1440), with a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz and a response time of up to 0.5 ms, AOC offers a full range of gaming monitors in different price ranges and for all user needs.
The gaming monitor market expanded rapidly in the last quarter, as the volume of all gaming monitors sold increased by 126% compared to the same quarter last year.
With the launch of the first gaming monitor in 2014 and the premium gaming brand AGON in 2016, AOC is not new to the scene and understands the passions and desires of gamers. AOC has also partnered with successful esports organization G2 Esports and sponsored various gaming events across Europe, including the Red Bull and ESL tournaments, proving that its gaming monitors are worthy of the attention of even the most elite gamers.
AOC's outstanding success was contributed by the award-winning G2 series launched last year, which received the approval of gamers and won many awards, including "Best Gaming Monitor" and "Best Budget Gaming Monitor" for the 24" model 24G2U with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a vivid IPS panel.
In Europe, AOC increased its leading market share from 23% in the third quarter of 2019 to 27% in the third quarter of 2020, with an increase of 4% year-on-year and 6% compared to the previous quarter (Q2-2020). This huge success is also evident in the fact that AOC increased the volume of monitors sold on an annual basis by an impressive 167%, while the overall market grew by 126% during the same period. AOC occupied the first place in the market in most European countries, in some of them they even reached an incredible 49% market share. In 18 countries/regions, AOC has a market share of over 25% in gaming monitors, which means that one out of four gaming monitors sold is an AOC monitor.
"In the last quarter, we achieved the highest quarterly sales volume in gaming monitors in Europe, for which we thank all our customers. The same trend applies to the whole world, where we have become the number one brand of gaming monitors. AOC continues to develop premium gaming monitors with our main brands AOC Gaming and premium AGON, and we are once again the first choice of customers for gaming monitors," said Stefan Sommer, director of marketing and business management for Europe.
In the Adriatic region, the gaming monitor market grew by a whopping 158% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2020, while AOC beat this growth by increasing its volume by 187% over the same period. Compared to the previous quarter and the third quarter of 2019, AOC increased its market share by 4%, reaching 40% market share in the third quarter of 2020 and maintaining the first place in this market.
"The gaming monitor market in the Adriatic region has grown tremendously, and AOC has continued the trend in the last few quarters and we have now surpassed the 40% market share mark. Thanks to AOC's excellent and diverse lineup, we are still the first choice of customers in this area." said Cristian Bucur, AOC & MMD Sales Director for Southeast Europe.
