The longest name in the world
People go out of their way to stand out
Her name is Sandra Williams and apparently she (was) obsessed with Guinness World Records. But since she didn't have any special talent or knowledge, she satisfied her "hunger for fame" by placing her daughter in the famous book of records. How? By giving her the longest name in the world.
The girl was named Rhoshandiatellyneshiaunneveshenk Koyaanisquatsiuth Williams at birth on September 12, 1984, which in itself is more or less almost impossible to pronounce. But the complexity of the name was clearly not enough for the mother, so she "slightly" extended it. How much? So much so that the girl's birth certificate is over 60 centimeters long, as her name has as many as 1019 letters and reads:
Rhoshandiatellyneshiaunneveshenkescianneshaimondrischlyndasaccarnae renquellenendrasamecashaunettethalemeicoleshiwhalhinive’onchellecaundenesh eaalausondrilynnejeanetrimyranaekuesaundrilynnezekeriakenvaunetradevonneya vondalatarneskcaevontaepreonkeinesceellaviavelzadawnefriendsettajessicanneles ciajoyvaelloydietteyvettesparklenesceandrieaquenttaekatilyaevea’shauwneorali aevaekizzieshiyjuanewandalecciannereneitheliapreciousnesceverroneccalovelia tyronevekacarrionnehenriettaescecleonpatrarutheliacharsalynnmeokcamonaeloies alynnecsiannemerciadellesciaustillaparissalondonveshadenequamonecaalexetiozeti quaniaenglaundneshiafrancethosharomeshaunnehawaineakowethauandavernellchishankcarl inaddoneillesciachristondrafawndrealaotrelleoctavionnemiariasarahtashabnequcka gailenaxeteshiataharadaponsadeloriakoentescacraignecadellanierstellavonnemyiat angoneshiadianacorvettinagodtawndrashirlenescekilokoneyasharrontannamyantoniaaquin ettesequioadaurilessiaquatandamerceddiamaebellecescajamesauwnneltomecapolotyoajohny aetheodoradilcyana. And then of course there is the second name (Koyaanisquatsiuth) and of course the surname…
Of course, the question immediately arises as to how and if at all, the girl remembered this own name. As you can see in the Oprah Winfrey Show clip below, she memorized it, and she learned it by having her mother tape it and play it to her daughter long enough for her to memorize it.
Cheers...
