The ultimate dive in the fast lane
Promotional content Victory for heroes: AGON 49” curved monitors AG493UCX2 and AG493QCX.

AOC, the leading brand in the world of gaming monitors and IT accessories, presents a rebranded gaming portfolio, from monitors to headsets, mechanical keyboards, mice, mouse pads and more for gamers of all levels, under its new sub-brand 'AGON by AOC'. Recently introduced, the first AOC GAMING category defines the needs of digital adventurers. Now, the AGON category of monitors and peripherals creates an ecosystem of products that are compatible with each other for a fully immersive and elegant gaming atmosphere that will meet the needs of demanding and competitive gamers.
Made for Heroes The main forces join the world where the heroes carry the banner of AGON. The heroes of the real PC gaming scene are uncompromising and competitive gamers, as well as content creators and uploaders. Only they combine their individual talents and teamwork to break through to the very top of the competition and show what can be achieved with the right equipment. For these heroes, the AGON series ("competition" in ancient Greek) is definitely the right companion they need by their side.
Thus, the first models from the newly introduced AGON series are two curved super-wide monitors worthy of heroism: the 49-inch (124.5 cm) AG493UCX2 with an incredible 165 Hz refresh rate and the 49-inch AG493QCX with a 144 Hz refresh rate. With its 32:9 aspect ratio, the AG493UCX2 virtually combines two 27-inch QHD displays in a single panel with a DQHD (5120 x 1440) resolution, while the AG493QCX equally combines two 27-inch Full HD displays with a DFHD (3840x1080) resolution. Both monitors use VA displays for deep blacks, rich colors and a high contrast ratio for stunning images supported by VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification.
Great results require great ambition "Our previous AGON series continues to be the number one monitor brand of choice for enthusiasts and competitive gamers alike. The 49" AGON models are especially popular among simulation and racing game enthusiasts, but are also loved by content creators and telecommuters. Thanks to the higher refresh rates of the new models and the increasing number of games that support the 32:9 aspect ratio, gamers can enjoy an exceptional experience in even more game genres such as FPS or MOBA," said César Reyes Acosta, Product Manager for Gaming Products / Team Leader for IT Equipment and Touch Monitors at AOC Europe.

The 49-inch AGON AG493UCX2 features a super-wide 32:9 VA display and a borderless design that looks like something out of a sci-fi spaceship with its futuristic curvature. The curvature of the 1800R bends gently in front of the user, filling their peripheral vision, like virtual reality (VR) placed on a table, without any obstacles in the middle of the screen.
In simulation racing games, large, super-wide screens like the AG493UCX2 raise situational awareness by showing a bigger picture of the game world, allowing the player to better visualize the scale in their mind and allow them to turn in the right direction at the right moment. Or in flight simulation titles, that extra screen space makes it easy to display small dials and indicators, visual references, and charts. The AG493UCX2 particularly excels in games played from a first-person perspective, and all games benefit from the extra screen space, whether RTS games where players can see their home base and border at the same time, or MMO games with lots of interactions happening at the same time.
Despite its massive size, the AG493UCX2 is faster and more responsive than its smaller cousins, thanks to a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms MPRT (4ms GtG) response time, making the competition even more adrenaline-pumping. Content creators or streamers can connect two PCs (streaming/work PC and gaming PC) via a built-in KVM switch to control with a single set of peripherals, and the USB-C connection can stream video while simultaneously powering laptops with up to 65W. It's both a productivity beast and a formidable gaming machine.
Simulation of adrenaline rush The 49-inch AGON AG493QCX is similar to its sibling in that it offers Full HD resolution, unlike the AG493UCX2, which boasts a QHD resolution. In a full-featured simulation setup with a reasonable distance from the monitor, the AG493QCX offers a truly immersive experience, and unlike its QHD sibling, the lower resolution places less strain on the graphics card, reducing overall system costs.
With a similar 49-inch VA display, the AG493QCX with a resolution of 3840 x 1080 operates with a up to 144Hz refresh rate for lightning-fast visuals, and a response time of 4ms GtG and 1ms MPRT, ensuring a gaming experience with as little i.e. ghosting as possible. Both monitors also offer a picture-by-picture mode, with which you can connect a work laptop and a desktop computer at the same time (on 2x HDMI 2.0 or 2x DisplayPort 1.2 inputs) and display both contents side by side. The AG493UCX2 also offers a USB-C input, and both have a built-in 3-port USB hub for easy connection of external devices.
Featured Both models support adaptive sync technology that prevents image tearing and stuttering. They boast VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, which decodes and displays high dynamic range with richer colors (89% AdobeRGB, 91% DCI-P3 and 120% sRGB gamut coverage for the AG493UCX2), which is suitable for content creation. Both models are also equipped with massive and durable metal stands, supporting 100mm height adjustment as well as tilt and swivel adjustments. Two 5W speakers in both models create a rich stereo sound stage.
To make on-screen menu adjustments or select different game modes and game-specific functions, users can use the built-in buttons, the supplied remote control or the AOC G-Menu software.
The first models of the new AGON series, the 49-inch AG493UCX2 and AG493QCX, will be available from September 2021 at a suggested retail price of EUR 1199 and EUR 949.
