Three gaming spaces
Why would the keyboard have three short spaces instead of one long one? Because of the games, of course…
The manufacturer says that the Kinesis TKO is a “tournament mechanical keyboard”. It is basically a standard, extremely robustly made keyboard with a 60% layout, where all the keys are exactly where we expect them, and the keyboard is also properly illuminated, supporting 12 lighting effects. But this is nothing terribly special nowadays.
But what is special? It's called HyperSpace modular space bar, and behind the space name is nothing more than a space bar divided into three keys. In everyday typing, all three keys behave the same, i.e. like the space bar, and their special features become apparent if they are reprogrammed. When playing, for example, two of the three keys can be assigned a new role, giving our thumb new functions, which can supposedly increase gaming efficiency by 300%.
What about the price? In Europe for Kinesis TKO you need to shell out €159, which is a fairly average price in this class…
