The Prince of Bel-Air returns…
… but this time not as a comedy and without Will Smith…
The comic series The Prince of Bel-Air was also very popular here in the 1990s. And this to the extent that many people knew how to "rumble" the title song by heart. The serial shot Will Smith into the Hollywood orbit, and her story was also special because it took place in a wealthy black family.
The half-hour comic series will now, more than twenty years later, get its reincarnation, but in a completely different form. The series will be titled Bel-Air and will not star Will Smith, but will consist of hour-long stories that will look at Will's complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the mansion in Bel-Air from a completely different, serious angle. It will be a drama in which many things will revolve around Will's internal conflicts, emotions and prejudices...
The series will be released once next year and can be watched on NBCUniversal's free streaming platform Peacock.
