Novi Ostržek this year
The film, which Guillermo del Toro announced back in 2008, is only supposed to hit the screens this year.
It is nothing new that some films run into problems in the process from idea to execution and are therefore delayed. And the films of director Guillermo del Toro are no exception. A delay of a month or even a year is nothing special, but fourteen years, as much as has passed since the first announcement of the animated film Pin-pin, is a bit long. But things just move on.
The new Pinocchio will of course be based on Carlo Collodi's story from 1883 and Gris Grimly's illustrations in the English edition from 2002. All we know about the film is what we see in the first "teaser". It looks like the story of Pinocchio will be presented "first-hand", as it will be based on the "testimony" of Sebastian J. Cricket, the cricket voiced by Ewan McGregor, who lived his life in the heart of Pinocchio.
Pinocchio is scheduled to be released this December on Netflix.
