How to watch Star Wars?
There have been many Star Wars movies, and because of the events in them, the order of viewing is quite important... I guess...

When the first movie called Star Wars was released in 1977, its authors probably never dreamed that they had created one of the most famous movie titles of all time. The film, written by George Lucas and directed by himself, launched Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and others, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Wader, C-3PO, R2-D2, Chewbacca... have become names known even to those who are not at all interested in science fiction. The success of the film naturally resulted in the continuation of the "franchise". The first part, which was subsequently expanded to Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, was followed in 1980 Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, then in 1983 Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and so on…12 feature films have been made so far.
For many fans of movie or book characters, watching the movie just once is not enough. Have you watched Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter just once? Of course not. And it's the same with Star Wars. But here comes the problem. In movies, it is not about events that follow each other in time, but "jumps". When the first Star Wars movie was released in 1977, its authors probably never dreamed that they had created one of the most famous movie titles of all time. The film, for which George Lucas wrote the script and directed it himself, launched Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and others among the stars. not interested in fantasy at all. The success of the film naturally resulted in the continuation of the "franchise". The first part, which was later expanded to Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, was followed in 1980 by Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back, then in 1983 by Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi and so on... 12 feature films have been made so far.
For many fans of movie or book characters, watching the movie just once is not enough. Have you watched Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter just once? Of course not. And it's the same with Star Wars. But here comes the problem. In movies, it's not about events that follow each other in time, but it "jumps". Namely, the story begins with the fourth movie Episode I - Menacing Apparition from 1999, continues with the fifth Episode II - Attack of the Clones from 2002 and so on. The first recorded film is only in sixth place in terms of time. And since, as we wrote, there are as many as 12 films (so far), following the events can be quite confusing. So if you are planning to watch the entire series, it might not be a bad idea if you choose the order according to the time of the story and not according to the year of release.
But the chronological arrangement apparently also has its bad qualities. The first is that it all starts with the movie Episode I - The Menacing Apparition, which according to many is the least popular, and the second is that the biggest mystery is revealed too quickly in the chronological order - who is Luke's father. In order to maintain the appeal and tension of the series, there is supposedly a "best" viewing order where you start with the first film made, ie Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, continue with the eighth Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and finish with Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
But there are more ways to watch the series. For example, someone suggested an order called Machete. Machete because the movie Episode I - Menacing Apparition was "cut" from the series, the sequence of episodes is 4, 5, 2, 3, 6. Since the order was proposed already in 2011, it does not contain films that were made later. The second, which was quite popular for a while, was the so-called Rinster's order order, which was named after Ernest Rinster, a fan of the series, and is essentially the same as Machete, except that it retains the Menacing apparition, which must be watched third in a row, i.e. between episodes 5 and 2.
You can see all four mentioned orders in the table below (we have left the original titles to make it easier to find them) and: "May the force be with you!"
